Christian Stewardship
From the beginning, God established the principle of separation between the sacred and the common. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil wasset apart for God, teaching us that there are things that belong exclusively to the Lord.
"Of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it..." - Genesis 2:17
The first biblical account of the tithe was when Abraham gave a tenth part of all to Melchizedek, king of Salem and priest of the Most High God. This act demonstratedrecognition and reverenceto God.
"And he gave him tithes of all." - Genesis 14:20
Should we return the tithe today?
This is a fundamental question that every Christian must consider carefully, seeking understanding in the Scriptures and guidance from the Holy Spirit for a response that honours God and reflects a true Christian stewardship.

A powerful lesson on the value of a sincere offering
Mark 12:41-44
Jesus watched the people putting their offerings into the treasury. Many rich people put in large amounts, but a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, of very little value.
Jesus called His disciples and said: "Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living."
God makes extraordinary promises to those who are faithful in tithes and offerings
"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it."
Malachi 3:10
"And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field."
Malachi 3:11
"And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts."
Malachi 3:12
Be faithful in bringing tithes and offerings regularly
Give with joy and not by obligation
Trust that God fulfills His promises
Thank God for His provision
